Boys Soccer

By: Ben Thomas

As winter sports are starting up, the soccer boys are confident in themselves.

Last year’s season was an outstanding success, ending only in the final four game to Colleyville in the Houston Tournament.

When asked about his thoughts on the season, Showa Domia, a boarding student from Angola, replied, “We will go as far as we want to go if we work together as a team.”

The team has a large diversity of nationalities and playing styles, but Coach Collins knows what players best fit each position.

Pasha Zapolskyy, from Ukraine, claimed, “We will be better than last year because we have matured as a team and know each other’s playing styles.”

This year’s team has new talent, Jace Keuchle as the goalie, Mac rose, Edmund Loolo, Abner Shin, and Thiago Kim.

This season should be a great one, especially because of last year’s successes and the numerous returning starters, Kyle Register, Pasha Zapolskyy, Chidiebere Nechi, Victor Loolo, Showa Domia, Michael Omini, Ben Nguyen, and Jordan Wyatt return to the field.

I’m excited to hear all of the great things this team will accomplish and do this season.

The Guard soccer teams next game is Tuesday, December 9 at Dallas Christian.
