Softball Update

Winning. That’s been the word for our Lady Guard softball team.

On Friday, April 11, the team won 12- 2 against Canyon Creek .

Sophomore Taylor Shultz pitched a strong game, making sure the oppositing team only got 2 runs off the entire game.

The Guard looked good at the plate, and were able to translate that into a solid lead early in the game.

Then, last Monday April 14, the team played First Baptist Dallas, clinching that win 5-4. The team managed to hold their early lead, despite the brutal wind chill and First Baptist’s fight to come back from behind.

Last Tuesday April 15, the girls played McKinney Christian. At 16-0, the team walked away with a shutout for their last home game of the season.

The team is guaranteed a playoff birth, but are still looking for a good seed, which will be determined by a district tie-breaker against First Baptist.

Stay tuned for a follow-up on our Lady Guard!
