On February 6, 2014, Korean boarding student Julia Ha competed in piano at the TAPPS music competition.
The competition was held at Green Acres Baptist Church and included people competing on stringed instruments and vocal competitions as well as piano.
Julia received a ‘1’ (which is the best score an instrumentalist can get) on her rendition of “Mozart-Sonata C k.545,1st movement.” Because of her superior rating she will be advancing to the state competition where she will play the same song.
Julia is remarkable piano player and has been practicing the piano since she was only 6 years old! Julia likes jazz music and also likes to play pop songs on the piano.
This was Julia’s first TAPPS music competition and she enjoyed the new experience very much.
Be sure to congratulate Julia on her successful first meet and keep your fingers crossed for her state competition in March.
