Guard soccer has kicked off district play and both teams are off to a great start. The boys and girls teams each won their games played within the last week, but there are still a few left in this week. That update will come after those games. Below are details about both wins.
The Lady Guard soccer took on Irving the Highlands last night. It was the first district game for the Lady Guard and they won easily. The final score was 7-0 with the Guard on top. Hayley Dumesnil and Kendall Wells scored 2 goals each. Kennedy Rose, Katherine Stair, and Julia Troxell scored the remaining goals. The Lady Guard are now 1-0 in district and 3-0 overall.
The Boys Guard soccer took on Christian Heritage on Friday, January 10. They won 4-2. Coach Collins said, “The boys played really well” against Christian Heritage and the score shows their hard work. The boys have a game on Tuesday, January 14, at 6:00pm. They are playing Dallas Covenant at Herrington Stadium, so try to make it out to support our boys soccer!
So far, it has been a good beginning of the season for both soccer teams. There are many more games to come! Try to make it to some—you just have to get past the cold!
