Lady Guard Soccer Silences the Trojans

By Hayley Dumesnil

On a freezing Tuesday evening, the Lady Guard Varsity Soccer team suited up to play at All Saints. When I say freezing, I mean FREEZING. The temperature was in the low 30’s, high 20’s. There was no such thing as being warm at the game. The Lady Guard came to play and was aiming for a 2-0 record going into district play, which starts in January.

The Lady Guard stomped on the Trojans, outscoring them, 2-1. The team had many more opportunities to score but each slipped through their grasp. Morgan Moss scored the first goal, off of a corner kick from Kennedy Rose, and Kendall Wells scored the second.

Now the Lady Guard has a perfect 2-0 record going into the Christmas Break. Both of their wins were against teams from Tyler, Grace Community and All Saints. As Hayden Langemeier said, “Clean sweep of Tyler.” (Minus TK Gorman, who they did not play due to the weather.)

The Lady Guard begins district play on January 9 at McKinney Christian.
