Kicked Out

Kicked out

The pop singer Rihanna during her world tour “Diamonds” got kicked out of Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates) on October 21st, 2013 for taking pictures and disrespecting the culture of the people in the country.

She had been performing for over one month and this was the only country she visited in the Middle East. Even though the singer respectfully dressed in the hijab and wore the appropriate things everywhere, it was still a forbidden rule for non-Muslims to be in the mosques. Not only was she in the mosques, she also took pictures which aggravated the authorities even more.

Only a limited amount of people are given visas into the Middle East and for her to waste the opportunity was a disappointment to the government. The women of the Middle East are meant to be careful with whatever they do because they have such little and limited rights. Rihanna on the other hand had no idea since she is free to do whatever she wants to do in America.

The government of the U.A.E. expects foreigners to respect their culture and religion and be at certain places at certain times. There are places restricted to non-Muslims or foreigners and they are supposed to obey the rule of keeping out as well. Even though it may seem like a lot of rules, the government is generous enough to allow foreigners to roam around the country and enjoy several different views, restaurants, and museums.

The government has also given the foreigners the opportunity to learn about the history of their country and to be able to at least enjoy a vacation with their families. The government of the U.A.E. is not as strict as that of Saudi Arabia because people are allowed to dress decently in normal clothes in the U.A.E. but in Saudi Arabia, it is certainly different. Foreign women are not allowed to go anywhere without putting on the hijab and the scarf. They are also not allowed to go anywhere without being accompanied by a man or their sons.

Even with all these rules, the Middle East is a beautiful part of the world that needs to be visited. Rihanna didn’t let this little mishap stop her from continuing her tour. She is now in her home town Barbados where she absolutely has freedom and can continue doing exactly what she loves: Entertaining…
