Coming Soon: Brook Hill’s 15th Annual Dinner Theater

By Allie Childers

This October 17th-19th Brook Hill will proudly present the 15th Annual Dinner Theater: You Can’t Get There From Here, a delightful comedy by playwright Pat Cook. Senior Kelsey Kilgore, who will be taking the lead role of Liz, says “Pat Cook plays are often performed very well on the Brook Hill stage. It’ll leave you laughing!”

Indeed, laughter is the best medicine, and this play is full of witty anecdotes and hilarious situations. “Who can resist a comedy?” asks sophomore Sheri Russell, who plays the role of Queenie, the local news reporter, “especially a good show with good actors.”

I think the whole cast would agree with our director Mr. Glenn Ballard when he says, “As dramatic artists, we enjoy creating a show that thoroughly entertains our audience and causes us to stretch and grow creatively as well. This cast has wonderful chemistry and is a perfect fit for this story. I am quite certain this year’s dinner theater will be enjoyed by all.”

The show centers around The Mavis Garner Bed and Breakfast in an out of the way town called ShadowFalls. Big city news reporter, Arthur Lyman, played by senior Caleb Wagner, can’t help but stand out when he stumbles into town. Will he be repulsed by the small town way of life? Or will he fall in love with the people of ShadowFalls and their simple lifestyle?

Drop by the show next month and find out! “It’s a great show! It’s funny and we’ve been working hard on it,” says senior Jazmen Jones who plays rude news editor Dolores Van Damm. If that isn’t motivation enough, it’ll be your last chance to see seniors Kelsey Kilgore, Caleb Wagner and Jazmen Jones in a dinner theater, so be sure not to miss it!
